Monthly Meeting – July 27, 2016
The name change from the Miami Maintenance Management Council (MMMC) to South Florida Aviation Maintenance Council (SFAMC) exemplifies the growth of the organization as well as aviation in the region. The MMMC was founded in Miami 29 years ago around the largest hub of aviation maintenance in the country. Today the aviation community in the State of Florida remains the largest in the country, however it now spans across a much larger area – all of South Florida. With the expansion of aviation in South Florida, the SFAMC is collaborating with agencies and governmental entities in the tri-county area in order to best support the rapidly expanding aviation maintenance community. In South Florida, numerous large and small aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) companies as well as auxiliary and support companies are based in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. SFAMC is uniting the aviation maintenance community in order to support, encourage, education, and promote the significant base of maintenance operations in the area. South Florida is an established aviation powerhouse and the SFAMC, with its 29 years of aviation maintenance experience, is proud to be able to continue to represent the aviation maintenance community throughout South Florida and the world.
