Industry Updates/Training

The Broward College Aviation Institute (www.broward.edu/aviation) renamed to the Emil Buehler Aviation Institute at Broward College.

The Emil Buehler Perpetual Trust has been a strong supporter of Broward College for decades, contributing over $5.3 million to programs at the college.  It is thanks to the generosity of the trust that we have our flight simulation lab and our air traffic control simulation lab.  Recently, the trust has made a pledge of $1.5 million to support the expansion of the aviation maintenance program, our most popular aviation program.  These funds, and others, will help us in expanding the hangar at Building 99 over the next several years.  This gift brings to nearly $3 million in support from the trust directly to aviation.  Emil Buehler has gifted more private support to Broward College than any other benefactor in the college’s history.

Due to the extraordinary generosity of the Emil Buehler Perpetual Trust, the Broward College Board of Trustees today approved the renaming of the Aviation Institute to the Emil Buehler Aviation Institute at Broward College.  We are very proud of the opportunity to recognize Emil Buehler so prominently.
